The Arenal Lodge...and Our Chalet!

We are heading across the continental divide to the rustic Arenal Lodge for the next three nights.  This next stop on our vacation is located near the Arenal Volcano National Park and surrounded by an authentic Costa Rican rainforest.  The bad part was a 3.5 hour shuttle ride awaited us today.....which we were definitely not looking forward to!

The Arenal Lodge is located just outside of La Fortuna with amazing views of the Arenal Volcano and also the Arenal Lake.  Jenesa and I did our homework before booking this place....and noted on TripAdvisor that people recommend upgrading your room to a mountain-side Chalet for a few extra bucks.  Can you say jackpot?  It was worth every cent! 

Our Chalet was situated above the entire resort and looked down upon everything else, including the infinity pool and hot tubs.....check out the view of the volcano in the distance!

The only problem was.....our Chalet was so far up the mountain from the main lodge that it was a hike-and-a-half just to walk up the hill to get to our room everyday!  It might sound like we complain a lot about walking, but when the temperature is 95+ degrees.....sweating your $%@# off does kinda make you a little grumpy!

There is so much wildlife to see in Costa Rica......creatures would literally pop up just about everywhere!  Check out this unexpected visitor who decided to hang out with us one day at our Chalet!
